Business setup
Connect your storefront domain
Use this checklist with the person who manages your domain. Hosting verification and DNS changes are both required; saving a hostname alone does not prove the connection works.
1. Confirm the destination
Record the business name, its working storefront link, and the exact hostname to connect (for example, shop.example.com). Open the existing storefront and confirm its branding before changing DNS.
2. Add the hostname
In the portal, select that business and open its Storefront settings and Custom domain panel. Add only a hostname you are authorized to manage. If it is already assigned to another business, contact support; do not remove or reassign someone else’s mapping.
3. Get the exact DNS requirements
Use the records and ownership-verification instructions returned by the hosting platform for that hostname. Ask RxSpot support if those instructions are not available. Do not guess an IP address or reuse records from another project.
4. Preserve existing services
Record the current DNS values before editing. Change only the web records required for this hostname. Keep existing MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records so email continues to work. Avoid changing nameservers unless the domain administrator has planned the full migration.
5. Verify the patient journey
Once the host reports the domain verified and its certificate ready, open the HTTPS address in a new browser session. Check the correct business branding, catalog, links and checkout entry without placing a real order. If both the root and www hostnames are wanted, verify each separately.
6. Record the result
Keep the hostname, business, changed DNS records, verification time and screenshots of the correct storefront in the support record. If the wrong storefront or a certificate error appears, stop sharing the address and contact support. Use the saved DNS values for any agreed rollback.
